The Emory National Primate Research Center in collaboration with the Oregon National Primate Research Center will host the 39th Annual Symposium on Nonhuman Primate Models for AIDS. We are planning for an in-person meeting September 13-16, 2022, at The Nines hotel in Portland, Oregon.

The Annual Symposium on Nonhuman Primate Models for AIDS is the premier scientific forum for the exchange of information, including new research findings and scientific perspectives, among HIV/AIDS investigators whose research includes studies in nonhuman primates (NHPs).

This meeting, which is open to all individuals interested in NHP models of AIDS, is the only one of its kind in the world. Participants from across the world, including early stage investigators, established faculty, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, can expect to learn the latest research findings in NHP models of AIDS and engage in discussions about the study of natural and experimental immunodeficiency virus infections in NHPs, emerging technologies to accelerate translation of NHP studies into the clinic and the development of novel therapeutics, prophylactic vaccines for HIV and curative approaches.

With 38 million people currently estimated to be living with HIV worldwide, it is imperative to develop better treatments and interventions to prevent and/or cure HIV infection.

We prepared a dedicated 39th Annual Symposium on Nonhuman Primate Models for AIDS website with more information about the meeting, including registration, abstract submission and travel award details.

We look forward to seeing you in Portland this September!
